Our take on Trials of Azra
Instead of keeping combat and puzzle-solving separate, the game makes defeated enemies part of the puzzle toolkit. Possession also changes the active character, creating a shift from a conventional single-protagonist puzzle adventure.
What is Trials of Azra?
Sam, an ordinary boy, is trapped in a dark realm with necromancy powers and a mysterious guide.
Defeat enemies with magic, then take control of their bodies to solve puzzles across 60+ rooms. Switch between Sam and one controlled enemy; control ends if that enemy dies or Sam takes over another. The game includes 20+ enemies, boss fights, multiple areas, and spells to learn alongside upgrades to Sam’s basic attack. Spells use mana, while food restores health and mana. Puzzles grow more difficult as the game introduces new content and combines it with earlier knowledge. Local co-op lets two players tackle the rooms together, where either player can trigger traps or disrupt a puzzle. Xbox controller compatibility is included.
How Trials of Azra plays
