Our take on Trap Defense
The tower-defense framing may suggest ongoing enemy management, but the central task is a fixed-information placement puzzle. Because every ball and trap appears at the beginning, uncertainty and reactive defense are reduced in favor of working out each level's arrangement.
What is Trap Defense?
Trap Defense combines tower-defense elements with puzzle solving.
Each level reveals the balls and traps at the start, so play centers on choosing positions rather than predicting incoming enemies. Cannons destroy a ball ahead of them and reload after 3 seconds. Landmines activate when a ball rolls over them and destroy balls within a 3x3-square area. Snap Traps hold a ball for 1 second, while Spiked Traps destroy a rolling ball every 2 seconds. Normal Balls follow arrows toward the endpoint. Iron Balls withstand one trap attack, and Fire Balls explode when destroyed, removing traps within a 3x3-square area. The objective is to arrange the available traps so the balls do not reach the finish.
How Trap Defense plays
- 01Fixed Level Information
- Every level shows its balls and traps before placement decisions begin.
- 02Cannon Reloading
- A cannon can destroy a ball ahead of it, then requires 3 seconds before firing again.
- 03Area Landmines
- A landmine activates under a rolling ball and affects a 3x3-square area.
- 04Ball Resistances
- Iron Balls survive one trap attack, while Fire Balls remove nearby traps when destroyed.
