Our take on Blastboard
Rather than treating billiards as a straightforward pocketing contest, Blastboard adds color-based contact rules and specialized balls that alter how tables are cleared. Its Minimal mode also measures progress by shot count, shifting the genre toward compact puzzle optimization.
What is Blastboard?
Blastboard uses mouse-controlled billiards to solve puzzle tables.
The objective is to remove every ball, either by sending balls into pockets or by causing at least two balls of one color to touch. Minimal mode focuses on clearing tables with as few shots as possible and supports solo or multiplayer play. Point Ball is a player-versus-player mode in which participants take turns, earn points by removing balls, and compare scores after all tables are cleared. It supports online matches and local multiplayer for 2 to 6 players using one mouse.
Ball types add different rules, including glowing color balls, reactive ice balls, disappearing thunder balls, and eight-point Eight Balls. Tables are randomly generated, with seed-based retries available in Regular Mode. A color-assistance option is also included.
How Blastboard plays
- 01Matching Ball Removal
- Balls can disappear when two or more of the same color make contact.
- 02Minimal Mode
- Players compete to finish each table with the fewest shots, either alone or in multiplayer.
- 03Point Ball Mode
- Turn-based matches award points for clearing balls, with Eight Balls worth eight points.
- 04Reactive Ball Types
- Ice, Thunder, Color, and Eight Balls each apply distinct movement or scoring rules.
- 05Randomized Tables
- Levels are generated randomly, while Regular Mode supports replaying table sets through seed values.
- 06Local Multiplayer
- Two to six players can share one mouse for local matches, alongside online play.
