Our take on Transcripted
Players who dislike switching between action and puzzle play may hit the main wall when the game moves from twin-stick combat into match-three sequences. Score-focused users may also lose interest after the 25 campaign missions if challenge-stage competition is not appealing.
What is Transcripted?
Transcripted combines twin-stick shooting with match-three puzzle sequences.
Players control the Nano Probe, a microscopic device fighting disease by destroying pseudo-DNA while it moves along an unending path. Combat includes pathogen swarms and large boss colonies. Experience from skill shots and large combos can be spent on weapon and ship improvements, including equipment, health, shields, and the probe’s arsenal. The campaign contains 25 core missions plus 5 challenge stages built around score competition. Shooting and puzzle difficulty can be set separately. The game also includes microscopic environments with animated backgrounds depicting areas of the body as infection spreads, along with an ambient musical score.
