Our take on Train Simulator: Pacific Surfliner® LA - San Diego Route
The defining detail is its push-pull Pacific Surfliner operation: a driveable cab car accompanies the F59PHI consist because the route has no turning facilities at either end.
What is Train Simulator: Pacific Surfliner® LA - San Diego Route?
This Train Simulator route recreates the 128-mile Pacific Surfliner journey between Los Angeles and San Diego.
Services leave Union Station, pass commercial districts and freight yards, continue through Fullerton, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and Oceanside, then climb Miramar Hill before reaching San Diego. The route combines busy urban junctions, coastal single-track sections, suburban stations, freight activity and inland gradients. Included rolling stock comprises the EMD F59PHI diesel locomotive in Amtrak Pacific Surfliner livery, passenger cars, a Café Car, a Business Class Car and a driveable Cab Car for push-pull operation. Nine scenarios cover training, multi-part services, a night journey and weather-related activities. Quick Drive compatibility and additional Steam Workshop scenarios are also included.
