Our take on Train Operator 377
The focus on driving from the cab gives the simulation detailed signalling, braking and safety systems, but leaves little room for broader railway management or other gameplay roles. Repeated sessions therefore center on operating services along the same route in changing conditions.
What is Train Operator 377?
Train Operator 377 is a railway driving simulation set across more than 50 miles of track, playable in both directions.
It presents urban areas, fields and tunnels through film footage combined with computer animation. Players can operate different services at any time of day and across every season, with several weather themes and a variable weather generator. Driving systems include dynamic signalling, weight- and weather-dependent braking, operational safety systems, AWS and a simplified onboard computer. Hazards can appear on the line, while multiple driver-position views and a configurable HUD support the cab-based workflow. The simulation is intended to use limited CPU resources and occupy minimal hard disk space. A truncated free version is available on Steam.
