Our take on TowerFall Ascension
Its focus on local competition limits the solo experience to the one- or two-player Quest mode. That trade-off supports direct group play but leaves less room for players seeking a broad single-player adventure.
What is TowerFall Ascension?
TowerFall Ascension is an archery combat game centered on local multiplayer.
Versus matches support up to four players across 120 arenas, with selectable variants that alter how matches work. Players can collect treasure-chest power-ups, catch arrows in midair, and attack opponents from above. The game also includes a cooperative Quest mode for one or two players, where teams fight monsters and enemy archers across the TowerFall setting. Eight playable archers are available, including four that can be unlocked. Additional power-ups include Drill Arrows, which pass through walls. Hidden discoveries and match customization add variety to local sessions, while the core controls remain simple despite combat that requires practice to master.
