Play it if you…
Good fit- Space-game fans who want asteroid mining and ship upgrades
- Players who enjoy managing crew survival systems during exploration
- Local multiplayer groups seeking several competitive piloting modes
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want forgiving flight controls may hit a wall while learning the zero-gravity handling
- Players seeking a purely combat-focused game may find its mining, research, management, and exploration structure unsuitable
- Solo players who do not want to monitor fuel, energy, and life support may not fit the ship-management demands
Our take on Towards The Stars
The bounce point is the flight model: movement without gravity or drag can make basic piloting difficult before exploration or multiplayer becomes enjoyable. Players unwilling to practice spacecraft handling may stop there, especially while monitoring fuel, energy, and life support.
What is Towards The Stars?
Captain a mining ship after an asteroid destroys the home world.
Mine asteroids for common and rare resources, then use them to upgrade the ship and create new technologies. Manage the crew and ship modules while monitoring three systems: fuel, energy, and life support. If any system reaches zero, the crew faces serious trouble. Travel through the galaxy, explore star systems, research technologies, and avoid danger during the journey. The game uses zero-gravity flight with no drag or gravity, making piloting difficult and requiring practice. Local multiplayer supports play on one computer with gamepads. Its modes include free-for-all, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and racing.
How Towards The Stars plays
