What is Touhou Shinreibyou ~ Ten Desires.?
This stage-based shooter has players avoid enemy bullets and shoot down opponents, with a boss at the end of each stage.
The spirit-world trance is central to its combat: with enough gauge, taking a hit triggers a period of invulnerability and stronger attacks, but the effect ends when the gauge runs out. A full gauge also allows a voluntary trance that does not cause a miss when it expires.
Defeated enemies can release four kinds of small spirits, which restore the trance gauge and provide different effects, such as increasing score-item value or adding life and spell-card fragments. Separate spell-card practice lets players replay cards they have encountered, and some cards have an overdrive mode unlocked by clearing every difficulty for that card.
