Our take on PPDD
The pitch strongly foregrounds the simple dodge-and-counter premise, while the actual described structure is narrower: one special combo is identified, and no broader combat or progression framework is presented.
What is PPDD?
PPDD is an action fighting game built around evasion and counter-attacks.
Enemies provide visual cues before striking, allowing players to avoid incoming attacks with directional controls. Successfully dodging creates a short opening called the Dodge Counter Moment, during which a counter-attack can be performed. A separate combo attack, Marshal Blow, becomes available when its gauge reaches maximum. The game uses only cross-key input for movement and combat actions, with attack timing and pattern recognition forming the central challenge.
How PPDD plays
- 01Visual attack cues
- Enemy strikes are preceded by on-screen signals that indicate when an attack is coming.
- 02Dodge counter window
- Avoiding an enemy strike opens a brief period for launching a counter-attack.
- 03Marshal Blow combo
- A special combo attack becomes usable after its gauge fills completely.
- 04Directional controls
- Movement and combat use cross-key inputs rather than a broader control scheme.
PPDD compared to similar games
PPDD centers on avoiding signaled attacks and answering during a short counter window, unlike SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER, which combines running, jumping, dodging, and shooting. Hentai Vs Furries presents third-person shooting with quests, weapons, several camera angles, and multiple modes, while PPDD focuses on directional dodge timing and counter-attacks.
