Our take on Tough Law
Its focused beat ’em up structure puts combat at the center, leaving less room for broader systems such as crafting, ranged arsenals, or extensive character progression. The crime investigation provides context for the fights, but the main interaction remains direct confrontation with enemies and bosses.
What is Tough Law?
Tough Law is a beat ’em up adventure set in 1995, after organized crime takes control of JF City.
Tommy Malloy, a police officer and friend of the missing police chief, investigates criminal groups and confronts those connected to the disappearance. Gameplay centers on close-range fights against groups of enemies, using punches, blocks, evasive movement, combos, and attacks. Encounters also include boss battles. The game presents its characters and environments with a paper-cutout visual style and uses an original rock soundtrack.
