Our take on TOMOMI
Rather than focusing only on combat, this Metroidvania pairs exploration and boss fights with frequent comedic conversations. Its structure also makes upgrades part of exploration, with some hidden in areas and others tied to shops or boss victories.
What is TOMOMI?
TOMOMI is a side-scrolling Metroidvania action game about a hero-for-hire and her supporter infiltrating the Animalia complex to stop a new weapon.
The complex includes research facilities, an observatory, an industrial mill, a shop, and hidden areas. Tomomi explores using abilities such as jumping, animal transformations, and swinging from ceilings. Combat includes bosses, some over 20 meters tall. Nearly 20 kinds of upgrades can be bought in a shop, earned by defeating bosses, or found in hidden areas. Conversations between Tomomi and Riko cover their history, encounters with bosses, and Tomomi’s feelings for Riko.
