Our take on Tile Battle
The description pitches a fresh angle on real-time strategy, but the match structure is compact: players steer automatically moving units by changing their routes on a grid. The emphasis is on local group play and replaying matches with different factions and settings, rather than a broader campaign structure.
What is Tile Battle?
Tile Battle is a local multiplayer strategy game for 2–4 players.
Each side has bases that spawn units, which move in straight lines, turn at walls and fight nearby enemies. Players place directional tiles on a top-down grid to guide friendly units toward enemy bases or divert opposing forces. Each player can have up to 5 active tiles and can remove one after a cooldown. Victory requires destroying all enemy bases and units.
Players choose from 3 factions, each with a base unit, 2 special units and 3 faction abilities. The game has 18 maps across its player counts, plus settings for game speed, spawn rates and sudden death. Settings can be saved and loaded as presets. Play uses controllers, with mouse and keyboard available for one player.
