Our take on Them Bombs
The defining detail is the split between the Hero, who sees the bomb on the PC, and the Expert Team, who uses a manual the Hero cannot see. Progress depends on the two sides exchanging verbal descriptions and directions.
What is Them Bombs?
This cooperative bomb-defusal game is for 2-4 players.
One player takes the role of the Hero, who finds a bomb and uses the PC to try to defuse it. The other players form the Expert Team and consult the bomb-defusal manual. The Hero cannot see the manual, and the experts cannot see the Hero’s screen, so players share information through spoken descriptions and instructions. The game centers on explaining what is visible and communicating how to handle the bomb’s parts, such as wires and control knobs. The scenario text includes a ticking countdown and a flashlight battery that runs out. Players work together to try to defuse the bomb.
