Our take on The Town of Nie
Instead of treating the otherworld as a backdrop for conventional adventure, the game places its living protagonist among residents for whom death is distant and deformity is ordinary. Its central tension comes from his isolation and relationships within that setting.
What is The Town of Nie?
The Town of Nie is a boys' love text adventure centered on Hisora, a young man who works several part-time jobs.
After following a mourner into a dark alley, he arrives at an inn in another world. The town is inhabited by dead residents and figures with unsettling deformities, while Hisora remains the only living human. Players advance the story by selecting choices and deciding the protagonist's actions. Hisora investigates the town and works with the inn's residents while searching for a route back home. The cast includes several male inhabitants with distinct personalities, including a drinker, a fighter, a serious young man, and a caretaker who cooks and handles the inn's chores.
