Our take on The Telephone
The focus on fear, investigation, and survival comes at the cost of a combat-centered experience. Food management and safe-place seeking add pressure, while the first-person mystery structure keeps attention on exploring environments and interpreting clues.
What is The Telephone?
The Telephone is a psychological horror title played from a first-person perspective.
It follows Roberta, who has been abducted and regains consciousness inside a small room containing a phone and a board of instructions. She must investigate the house where she is held and the deserted settlement of Lonely Plain. Along the way, players gather items and clues, work through puzzles, find food, and direct Roberta toward secure areas while darkness, mist, and supernatural incidents intensify her fear. Another captive girl accompanies her search for escape. The narrative explores the abduction of Roberta and nine other girls, while also pursuing the restoration of Roberta’s missing memories. Environmental audio distributes unsettling noises across the game’s locations.
