Our take on The Plane Effect
The store presentation emphasizes the cosmic threat and strange city, but gives less emphasis to the basic structure: moving through areas, solving puzzles, and continuing along a directed route. The optional guidance mode also suggests that puzzle difficulty is a notable part of the experience.
What is The Plane Effect?
The Plane Effect is an isometric adventure following Solo on his final day at work, when a cosmic anomaly disrupts his journey home.
Players move through a dystopian city where familiar routes become strange and difficult to understand. Progress depends on exploring otherworldly environments, solving unusual puzzles, and continuing forward while a hostile presence remains close behind. Puzzles can be approached without assistance or with optional guidance through Assisted-Mode. The story centers on Solo’s attempt to reunite with his wife and daughter after a life-changing event.
