Our take on The Patient
The focused overnight investigation gives the game a clear objective and contained setting, but it sacrifices breadth: the experience centers on one hospital case, a small group of records, and a limited time window rather than broader progression.
What is The Patient?
The Patient is an atmospheric horror puzzle experience about Dr.
Ellen Reed’s first overnight shift after returning from maternity leave. A power outage has erased most hospital records, and 10 inpatients are quarantined in Block 3 after one receives a deadly experimental drug. Reed must determine which patient was affected before the available time runs out. The investigation includes exploring the psychiatric section, keeping cell lights off while they flicker on, opening the file room, and examining recovered records.
A disk writer transfers backup patient logs to the office computer, where corrupted data and unusual entries provide clues. After identifying the patient, Reed removes them from the electrical room control panel. The game uses a PS1-era horror aesthetic and was made in Godot 3. 6.
How The Patient plays
- 01Patient deduction

- 04Light management

- 05PS1-inspired horror
