Our take on The Outer Side
The bounce point arrives when exploration shifts into survival: players must handle monster encounters while navigating a labyrinth and solving puzzles. Those who prefer a purely narrative route may hit a wall when progress depends on combining environmental navigation, danger, and the protagonist’s psychological horror.
What is The Outer Side?
The Outer Side is a horror-puzzle adventure set in an abandoned black-and-white world inhabited by outcasts.
After arriving there by mistake, the player navigates a labyrinth of horrors divided into levels with distinct atmospheres. Survival involves confronting monsters and other dangers while using available abilities and powers. Puzzle-solving opens the way through the environment, while audio logs provide pieces of the story. The game presents horror through both sudden scares and the protagonist’s psychological struggles. Exploration gradually reveals more about the world and the reason behind its strange inhabitants. The game was created by one developer over about 7 months.
