Our take on The Masterplan
The mastermind framing emphasizes control, but the campaign also depends on keeping crew members alive, managing equipment, and reacting when police arrive. The advertised freedom of approach therefore sits alongside consequences that can turn a planned operation into a firefight.
What is The Masterplan?
The Masterplan is a top-down tactical heist game set in the 1970s.
Players direct a squad through 20 hand-crafted heists in a persistent career, hiring crew members and equipping them between missions. Each location supports loud, stealthy, or mixed approaches, with systems for threatening civilians and guards, using disguises, disabling electrical systems, carrying bodies, and deploying weapons such as pistols, bombs, shotguns, and tranquilizer guns. On-demand slow motion provides time to plan and issue orders. Missions can turn into firefights when police arrive, while keeping crew members alive and securing loot remain part of the objectives. Eight additional challenge maps are available through Steam Workshop, which also supports player-created heists.
