Our take on The Left Behind
Rather than keeping survival pressure constant, the game divides its rhythm between daytime scavenging and nighttime enemy attacks. Its Dutch setting and fully enterable buildings also replace the genre’s more common generic wilderness backdrop with a more specific exploration space.
What is The Left Behind?
The Left Behind is a solo or online co-op survival game set in a post-apocalyptic Dutch landscape.
Daytime is used to explore, hunt, gather supplies, and search buildings for loot; every building can be entered. At night, enemy hordes arrive and become more difficult with each passing night. Players monitor food, thirst, and health while unlocking areas and melee or ranged weapons. The game includes story, survival, horde, and open-world exploration modes. Up to four people can play together, or compete to see who lasts longest. Encounters include different enemies and animals, while a mysterious story provides additional context. Each session tracks a high score based on survival.
