Our take on The Last Sin
The page foregrounds a journey across six worlds and the defeat of seven sins, but gives little detail about how those missions differ. Its clearest mechanical stakes are party changes before missions and the restriction on reviving fallen characters outside the Sanctuary.
What is The Last Sin?
The Last Sin is a dark JRPG set in a corrupted purgatory, where the dead cannot find rest and the living do not know what is happening.
After an unnamed knight dies in battle, a maiden asks him to gather heroes and cleanse the land. The knight can take three other heroes on a journey through six worlds of limbo, facing the demons that rule each layer and the seven sins. Recruit characters with different battle skills and roles, then change the party before each mission to suit its challenges.
Battles pit the group against hordes of enemies and culminate in a boss fight for each world. Gear can be equipped to match party members’ roles. Fallen characters cannot be revived outside the Sanctuary, making losses in the outer world consequential.
How The Last Sin plays
- 01Pre-mission party changes

- 02Role-matched equipment
- Gear can be selected to suit the battle role of each party member.
- 03Limited revival
- Characters who fall in the outer world can only be brought back at the Sanctuary.
- 04Six-world journey
- The knight’s party travels through six regions of limbo and confronts seven sins.
