Our take on The Kids We Were
The store page gives substantial attention to awards and the Complete Edition label, while the described experience centers on a narrative adventure, investigation, and collecting. The edition adds an epilogue and collection items, rather than presenting a different gameplay structure.
What is The Kids We Were?
This narrative-focused adventure follows Minato, a boy who arrives in the small town of Kagami while searching for his missing father.
A notebook called The Seven Mysteries leads him to investigate clues and travel 33 years into the past, to the day his parents first met. Set in Japan during the late Showa era of the 1980s, the game combines story exploration with collectible hunting. The Complete Edition contains the main story, a bonus episode set after its events, and additional collection items. Players can search the town for over 90 retro objects and unlock over 20 Steam achievements while uncovering the events connected to Minato’s family and a broken future.
