Our take on The Fall Part 2: Unbound
The game gives narrative and puzzle exploration a central role, so combat is one part of a broader structure rather than the sole focus. Its reduced-difficulty mode also trades combat challenge for access to the story and puzzle content.
What is The Fall Part 2: Unbound?
An AI escapes its restraints, but a human known as the User attacks and infects it.
Seeking to survive and pursue the attacker, it enters three distinct robots and tries to recruit their aid while confronting the limits imposed by each host. Players explore the robots and their surroundings to gather information for puzzles, with two new combat systems adding fights to the narrative. A lower-difficulty mode is available for players who want to focus on puzzles and story.
The sequel expands on Part 1 with four playable characters, thousands of fully voiced dialogue lines, four times the environments, and more than a dozen animated characters. It continues Arid’s story through a dystopian setting shaped by questions of personal boundaries, relationships, ethics, and ideology.
