Our take on Lethe - Episode One
Instead of treating adventure as a fixed sequence of discoveries, Lethe makes story knowledge dependent on exploration. It also replaces ordinary environmental interaction with psychokinetic manipulation, while survival is built around evasion rather than a stated combat-focused structure.
What is Lethe - Episode One?
Lethe - Episode One is a first-person adventure with survival horror elements.
It follows Robert Dawn, a journalist who investigates his origins after his step-father’s death leaves him with debts. His search leads to a quiet mining settlement, where contact with an unknown substance gives him psychokinetic abilities that consume his life energy. Players explore the settlement, uncover information about its locations, and decide how much of the story to discover. Survival involves running or hiding from threats, while psychokinesis allows interaction with inorganic objects in the environment. The episode presents a standalone experience, with its story centered on Robert’s increasingly dangerous investigation and the threat he encounters after arriving at the settlement.
