Our take on The Dig®
Its defining premise is that a diverted asteroid becomes a crystal-like spacecraft, carrying three investigators across the galaxy to a deserted planet filled with remnants of a vanished civilization.
What is The Dig®?
The Dig is a deep-space adventure following NASA veteran Boston Low, journalist Maggie Robbins, and geologist Ludger Brink.
After they divert a moon-sized asteroid into orbit, an activated mechanism turns it into a crystal-like spacecraft and carries them to Cocytus, a barren planet shaped by a vanished civilization. The trio explores surface ruins and underground passages while investigating the missing Cocytans, strange apparitions, and the reason for their arrival. Progress centers on uncovering answers through exploration and solving hundreds of puzzles across nearly 200 locations. The game includes voiced dialogue for Boston Low by Robert Patrick, contributions from filmmaker Steven Spielberg, special effects work from Industrial Light & Magic, dialogue contributions from Orson Scott Card, and a Wagnerian musical score.
