Our take on The Detective Reaper Invites
The bounce point arrives at the first incorrect accusation: the run ends, the detective reaper is judged unfit, and progress returns to the beginning. Players may also hit a wall when card spending leaves too little money for tougher later cases.
What is The Detective Reaper Invites?
Investigate randomly generated murder cases by collecting testimonies from three suspects and identifying the culprit.
The murderer always lies, while innocent suspects tell the truth. Cards can provide additional testimonies and other effects, but playing them costs money earned through successful executions. Between cases, choose paths across a board containing Deduction, Shop, Treasure, and Random spaces. Shops offer cards, items, and HP recovery, while treasure can contain cursed items. Cases have Normal, Difficult, and Arduous variants, with an Arduous case closing each stage. A failed deduction ends the run and sends the detective reaper back to the beginning. Hard Mode adds a time limit, and card redraws are available at the start of each case.
