Our take on Million Depth
The game turns stillness into a combat tactic: Moma can stop time only while she remains motionless. Its changing timelines also replace a single fixed progression with consequences that reach across different versions of the underground world.
What is Million Depth?
Million Depth follows Moma as she searches for a friend in a million-floor underground world that changes over time.
Different timelines reveal different versions of the story, while Moma’s past choices affect later events and other timelines. Battles combine movement, equipment durability, and time control: the biotope jammer stops nearby creatures while Moma remains still, creating an opportunity to plan an attack or escape. Weapons and shields wear out and break, leaving her defenseless until repaired. Equipment is crafted by combining blocks, and some blocks can be upgraded when placed with others of the same type. Shopkeepers offer crafting blocks, items, and relics through bartering. Stockinum is a resource whose value changes constantly.
How Million Depth plays
- 01Time-freezing battles
- The biotope jammer pauses surrounding enemies while Moma stays motionless, giving her time to plan an attack or escape.
- 02Block-based crafting
- Two pieces of equipment can be made by combining different blocks, including long-range guns and shields.
- 03Equipment durability
- Weapons and shields deteriorate during combat and leave Moma defenseless when they break.
- 04Timeline consequences
- Moma’s earlier decisions affect later events and other versions of the world.
- 05Shopkeeper bartering
- Trades depend on the offered value and each shopkeeper’s mood, while excessive demands can raise prices.
