Our take on The Classrooms
Players who rely on silence for stealth may bounce at the proximity-voice system, where sound from an input device can expose their location to certain entities. Those expecting the same route or item setup on each run will also hit the procedural generation's changing layouts and resources.
What is The Classrooms?
The Classrooms is a procedural survival horror game set in a condemned public school whose halls form a seemingly endless maze.
Players investigate the disappearance of several students through found footage from a 1996 VHS camcorder. Each session generates a different world, with billions of possible layouts and changing procedural elements. The school contains anomalies ranging from harmless oddities to dangerous entities, each with distinct mechanics and behaviors. Players find and use items, keys, equipment, and codex entries, while available resources can vary between players. Proximity voice makes sound from an input device part of the game world: noise can expose a location to some entities, while voice may also be used during encounters.
