Our take on The Assembly
Its focus on immersive, choice-driven storytelling leaves less room for combat systems and broad mechanical variety. The two-character structure adds perspective to the narrative, but the experience remains centered on investigation, trials, and moral decisions rather than open-ended play.
What is The Assembly?
The Assembly is a first-person interactive story built for virtual reality, with a non-VR option.
It follows two individuals who encounter a morally ambiguous organization from different perspectives. Madeleine Stone undergoes induction trials, while veteran Cal Pearson reveals further aspects of the Assembly. Players investigate the organization’s secret bunker, explore realistic environments, and face decisions connected to its pursuit of progress. The story presents contrasting viewpoints and can reach multiple conclusions based on the choices made. VR movement uses blink controls, and Vive Motion Controllers and Oculus Touch are supported input devices. The game centers on moral dilemmas, revelations, and the consequences of decisions rather than combat-focused gameplay.
