Our take on The Alchemist of Ars Magna
Rather than centering its RPG structure on a conventional adventuring party, the game places progression inside an alchemy academy. Combat, crafting, research, relationships, school rivalries, and contracts with gods all form parts of the protagonist's development.
What is The Alchemist of Ars Magna?
This RPG follows a young alchemist entering Cagliostro Academy, where research, study, relationships, and combat shape the story.
The world of Arcaus is threatened by Dust, which transforms guardians into hostile gods and creates ash demons. Battles use turns, with up to five characters facing up to five opponents and relying on individual skills. The protagonist can contract with five Origin gods and obtain crests that grant abilities when placed on ether gear. Quests use turn-based movement across fields where encounters and items depend on position. Alchemy produces battle and exploration items, while ether gear can be enhanced to unlock stronger skills. Using the Philosopher's Stone converts dust and ash into energy, but also increases contamination in the protagonist's body.
