Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a tightly linear campaign may find the nonlinear, exploratory structure a poor match.
- Those seeking a long campaign without optional exploration may find the speedrun estimate of a couple of hours or less notable.
- Players looking for cooperative play may prefer a game whose description explicitly centers on cooperative action.
Our take on Tenderfoot Tactics
The campaign’s advertised open-world scope comes with a wide playtime range: a speedrun may take a couple of hours or less, while a playthrough covering most of the content is estimated at 25–35 hours. That distinction matters when judging how much of the experience is optional exploration.
What is Tenderfoot Tactics?
Lead a small party of goblins through an archipelago as they search for a way to stop the Fog from consuming the mainland’s forests.
This open-world tactics RPG combines battles with exploration of ruins, artefacts and settlements. Elemental magic can alter the terrain: players can open chasms, raise mountains, boil lakes and drain rivers, with consequences that can affect later encounters. Combat uses deterministic rules, with no random miss chances or damage ranges.
Travel by boat, or take bird form to survey the landscape and plan routes. The game has a nonlinear structure with optional exploratory content. The vendor estimates a couple of hours or less for a speedrun and 25–35 hours for a full playthrough aimed at seeing most of the game.
