Our take on TEMPUS
The defining constraint is irreversible travel into the future: every portal jump advances the island by another period, making environmental change part of the puzzle adventure’s structure.
What is TEMPUS?
TEMPUS is a puzzle adventure set on a remote island where the player is its only citizen.
After a mysterious portal appears, entering it sends the player 200 years into the future. Time travel works in one direction: movement is possible only toward later periods. The main objective is to restore the portal so the journey can continue and its mystery can be investigated. Each scenario requires exploration and puzzle solving to reactivate the portal. Across six levels, the island and its civilization change over hundreds and thousands of years, showing the effects of time on the surrounding environment. Puzzles have varying difficulty, and the journey follows the island’s transformation into an unknown future.
How TEMPUS plays
- 01One-Way Time Travel
- The portal moves the player into later periods, with no route back to earlier points in time.
- 02Changing Island
- The environment and civilization develop across hundreds and thousands of years.
- 03Portal Restoration
- Exploration and puzzle solving are used to restore power before progressing to another period.
- 04Six-Level Structure
- The adventure is divided into six scenarios that follow the island’s transformation.
