Our take on Tape to Tape
The multiplayer emphasis can obscure an important boundary: remote sessions rely on Steam Remote Play Together or third-party services, since native online multiplayer is not included. The game also centers on roguelite runs and upgrades rather than presenting a traditional hockey league or season structure.
What is Tape to Tape?
Tape to Tape combines hockey with roguelite progression.
Players guide a team through runs, choosing routes, recruiting distinctive players, managing substitutes, and selecting abilities, power-ups, and artifacts. Player combinations create synergies, while losses provide opportunities to upgrade the captain between runs through the Blademaster. Matches use fast-paced action and puck physics that include deflections, rebounds, and changing goalie reactions. The game includes campaign and cooperative campaign modes, plus Tournament, Play Now, and Shootout options. More than 40 teams have distinct player groups and synergies. Local multiplayer supports up to 10 players, while remote sessions use Steam Remote Play Together or third-party services because the game has no native online multiplayer.
