Rather than treating fallen allies only as a setback, the game turns party losses into a combat resource through its rage mechanic. It also replaces a fixed companion-growth path with youkai synthesis, allowing captured creatures to pass attributes between one another.
What is TAMAKAGURA: Tales of Turmoil?
TAMAKAGURA: Tales of Turmoil follows Yuuma Nagumo, a freelance exorcist, and his companions as they take urgent quests in Inakibi Village.
Battles use turn-based tactics, five attributes, character compatibilities, summoned youkai, and exorcism skills that spend accumulated Karma. A rage mechanic increases a party member’s strength when allies fall. Captured youkai can be combined through synthesis to inherit attributes and improve their battle potential. The party includes Yuuma, his childhood friend Yukari Kaburagi, and priestess Chihaya Inudoh, who joins while completing her training. The game includes shopping and upgrades, and offers more than 10 hours of story and gameplay.
