What is HENPRI?
HENPRI is a visual novel set in Tulip Prison, an isolated penitentiary on an island that holds criminals judged beyond rehabilitation.
Shuichiro Minato, a young man from Tokyo, receives a ten-year sentence after being arrested for public nuisance and resisting arrest. He describes his actions as art and self-expression, but the court rejects that explanation. Inside the prison, he faces dangerous inmates and an unforgiving environment while confronting the consequences of his own actions. The story includes prisoners such as Hanamaru, who offers Shuichiro advice, and Kurebayashi, a hostile inmate known outside the prison for secret recordings. The setting presents incarceration as both a violent system and the basis for an uncertain search for happiness.
