Our take on Tall Trails
The exploration pitch highlights five biomes and repeat runs, but gives little indication of their individual size or how much New Game+ and Randomizer change the adventure. The purpose-driven story is framed as a mystery rather than a clearly outlined narrative.
What is Tall Trails?
Explore a strange world as Alp, a small golem searching for a purpose.
Movement centers on a Rocket Boot that consumes found items for different aerial actions: hot peppers provide upward thrust, whirligigs enable hovering, and spiders allow swinging on webs. Run, climb, reach mountain summits, assist at camp, and search for treasure across five biomes. Badges can be found and upgraded to increase platforming abilities, while hats offer another collection goal. After completing the main story, New Game+ and Randomizer modes create new adventures in randomly generated worlds. The game includes controller support, remappable controls, flexible difficulty settings, and numerous unusual characters.
