Our take on I AM DOG
The store presentation emphasizes a new adventure every time, but the game’s structure is a repeated descent through randomized levels. Its variety comes from biomes, hazards, equipment, and run rewards rather than a separately described campaign path.
What is I AM DOG?
Play as DOG in a 2D vertical scrolling platformer set across procedurally generated levels and four biomes.
Chomp through dirt and stone, stomp enemies and objects, and use bombs while descending into the Depths to rescue DOG’s friends. Bones collected during runs can be spent in shops on items. Maintaining a combo by stomping chests, mushrooms, tombstones, and enemies awards points, health, and sometimes Super Bones. Super Bones upgrade DOG’s maximum health at a temple. Ability hats add effects such as Stone Chomp, half damage, or triple jump, while Style hats double score points. Completing the story unlocks 99 Mode, with 99 levels and randomized biome elements.
How I AM DOG plays

- Stomping objects and enemies maintains a meter that can grant points, health, and Super Bones.
- 04Ability Hats
- Equipment can provide effects including Stone Chomp, half damage, and triple jump.
- 0599 Mode
- Finishing the story opens 99 levels with randomized elements and permanent Ability Hat unlocks.
I AM DOG compared to similar games
I AM DOG combines vertical platforming with procedurally generated levels, bone spending, combo rewards, hats, and a 99-level mode.
