Our take on System Crash
Players who enjoy story progression but dislike deck construction may bounce when building a Runner deck becomes central. Those expecting a conventional action game may stop when encounters are resolved through card-based strategy rather than direct combat.
What is System Crash?
System Crash is a cyberpunk collectible card game with a story campaign set in San Angeles 2150 and corporate arcologies.
Players choose a Runner persona, build a deck from more than 100 cards, recruit agents, and equip them with black-market weapons and cybernetics. Opponents include corporate security forces, automated defense systems, street gangs, and bounty hunters, with AI that tests deck strategy. The campaign features interactions with hackers, mercenaries, executives, and assassins. Its Living Card Game model includes the base set with purchase, unlocks cards through gameplay, and uses one-time purchases for expansion cards.

System Crash compared to similar games
System Crash combines a cyberpunk story campaign with deck construction, recruitable agents, and a fixed card-set model. Shogun Showdown also uses deck-building elements, but centers on turn-based positioning, attack tiles, skills, and repeated runs toward the Shogun rather than a narrative campaign against corporate factions.
