Our take on Synonymy
Instead of relying on levels, combat, or a narrative campaign, this game makes connections between words its central structure. Progress comes from finding synonym routes, while weekly challenges use set start and end words in place of a conventional campaign.
What is Synonymy?
Synonymy is an educational word game in which players connect random words through chains of synonyms.
Each move selects a synonym of the current word, continuing until another word is reached. The game supports multiplayer play and weekly challenges with set starting and ending words, where players compete globally. When a player uncovers a path, it is shared through the game's Twitter and Facebook accounts. Richard Dawkins provides the narration. A 2D visualization represents the synonym network, which was mapped using 3D graphing software. The game is described as non-profit, and its profits go to educational charities. Music is by Daduk.
