Our take on Swords & Bones
The store page highlights the retro influences, level count, bosses, and endings, but gives little sense of how the stages differ from one another. The result is a clear outline of quantity and theme without much detail about the moment-to-moment structure beyond combat, traps, spells, and collectibles.
What is Swords & Bones?
Swords & Bones is a dark fantasy action adventure built around level-based combat.
Players fight through more than 50 stages populated by monsters, skeletons, demons, and traps, then face six bosses. Coins collected during play can be used for power-ups, while five spells provide additional abilities. Finding every Hero’s Trophy opens an extra challenge, and the game includes two endings to discover. Its presentation uses pixel art modeled on 16-bit graphics and a chiptune soundtrack. The game draws inspiration from classic action adventures such as Ghosts ’n Goblins and Castlevania. Achievements are also included.
