Skip it if you…

Our take on Summoner
Creature summoning shifts the usual action-RPG focus away from a lone hero. Joseph still casts spells, uses weapons, and wears armor, but combat also revolves around calling and controlling as many as 16 creatures, making the hero's power partly dependent on the beings he unleashes.
What is Summoner?
Summoner follows Joseph, a child marked by a power that once brought disaster to his village.
Nine years later, an invading army forces him to face the prophecy surrounding his abilities. The game takes place across two continents in an original fantasy world. Combat combines creature summoning with spellcasting, weapons, and warrior armor. Up to 16 creatures can be called and controlled, including minotaurs, golems, dragons, and other fantastical beings. The premise centers on controlling forces that can challenge emperors and gods, while Joseph confronts the consequences of his past and the invasion of Orenia.

Summoner compared to similar games
Ghost of a Tale is an action RPG centered on Tilo, a mouse and minstrel, with exploration, immersion, stealth, disguises, and conversations in a medieval animal world. Summoner instead centers combat on Joseph's spells, weapons, armor, and control of summoned creatures. Alpha Protocol follows an agent trying to stop an international catastrophe, whereas Summoner uses a fantasy prophecy and an invading army as its central story framework.
