- Players who use controllers and want Normal, Endless, and Practice modes
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking broad exploration or a large world may find the circular stage structure restrictive

- Players looking for a story-focused adventure may find the emphasis on movement, shooting, and pattern recognition too narrow
Our take on Sullen
The focus on compact, pattern-driven stages gives Sullen a clear arcade structure, but it limits exploration and narrative variety. Repeated attempts, checkpoint rules, and timed advancement take priority over open-ended movement or character development.
What is Sullen?
Sullen is a fast-paced platformer set within a circular arena.
A small pentagon moves through five levels containing 40 stages and five mini-boss battles before confronting the attacking eye. Each stage presents a distinct pattern, and surviving for 30 seconds advances the run. A level attempt begins with three lives. Completing stages grants checkpoints, which can be used four times during an attempt. Normal mode provides the main progression, while Endless mode offers continued play. Practice mode focuses on learning stage patterns. The game includes a minimalist, colorful visual style, an electronic soundtrack with 12 songs, and full controller support.

Sullen compared to similar games
