Our take on Subterror
Rather than placing exploration in a conventional surface setting, the game moves it beneath the ocean into abandoned climate-controlled domes. Its environmental variety comes from these enclosed habitats, while procedural dungeons replace a fixed route through the world.
What is Subterror?
Explore abandoned biospheres located on the ocean floor, where former weather-controlled domes now contain arid deserts, dark forests, and frozen tundras.
Procedurally generated dungeons lie within these environments, offering deeper areas to investigate and clues about why the domes were built. Exploration also involves discovering which inhabitants remain inside. The game supports solo play or cooperative groups of up to 4 players, letting a crew enter the underwater structures together or sending one player into the depths alone. Players are encouraged to return from their expeditions with discoveries and other finds rather than leaving the dungeons empty-handed.

- 02Changing Environments
