Our take on Submergent
The defining detail is resource-limited navigation in a dark underwater cave: an unclear scanner provides guidance, while a finite supply of flares marks the route.
What is Submergent?
Submergent is an underwater exploration game set in an Arctic cave system about 1,000 feet below sea level.
Players pilot the rusted submarine The Tin Can while searching for two exploration teams that have been missing for four days. Because sunlight cannot reach the cave, navigation depends on the submarine’s light and an old scanner that produces unclear mapping information. A limited supply of flares can mark the route, but the flares are consumed as they are used. The experience centers on piloting through the cave, locating the missing teams, and avoiding getting lost. The game is intended as a short experience that can be finished in less than an hour.
