SimulationIs Submarine Craft worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Submarine-building fans who want to plan both exterior and interior layouts
- Ocean explorers who enjoy navigating hazards and searching underwater ruins
- Management-minded players who want to expand shipping and process mined resources
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want to build a craft without managing separate 3D exterior and 2D interior layouts may hit a wall during construction.
- Players looking for combat as the main activity may find that exploration, physics, and career expansion also occupy the game’s scope.
- Players seeking a puzzle factory game centered on chemical production may prefer SpaceChem’s raw-material processing workflow.
Our take on Submarine Craft
The main sticking point is the split construction workflow: shaping the exterior in 3D is only part of the job, since the interior is built separately in 2D. Players who do not want to plan both layouts may bounce off before reaching ocean exploration.
What is Submarine Craft?
Submarine Craft combines watercraft construction with ocean exploration and combat.
A 3D editor is used to shape a craft’s exterior, while a separate 2D editor lays out its internal structure. The game simulates collisions in 3D and temperature and pressure in 2D; buoyancy also affects how craft behave. Submarines rise or sink by changing the water held in their ballast tanks, rather than relying on conventional health bars. Exploration includes undersea volcanoes and ancient ruins, and players can build vessels ranging from steamships to research submarines. Career mode starts with basic materials and a small warehouse, then centers on expanding shipping operations. Offshore factories can process ores mined underwater.
How Submarine Craft plays
- 01Separate craft editors
- The 3D workspace shapes the hull’s outside, while the 2D workspace handles its interior.
- 02Simulated vessel physics
- Collisions, heat, pressure, and buoyancy affect craft, with ballast water controlling ascent and descent.
- 03Career progression
- Operations begin with limited building materials and a small warehouse, then expand into shipping.
- 04Ore processing
- Players can construct offshore factories to process minerals mined below the surface.
