Our take on Railroad Engineer
Instead of treating trains mainly as vehicles for routes or passengers, the game makes cargo compatibility and multi-stage manufacturing central to progression. Settlement growth follows the supply network, turning rail construction into the main structure of city development.
What is Railroad Engineer?
Lay tracks and operate locomotives as seven basic materials are gathered, including timber, fuel-bearing coal, metal ore, stone, provisions, vegetation, and petroleum.
Collection structures obtain these inputs and send them to production sites, which turn them into ten manufactured items, including lumber, steel, fuel, medicine, and plastic. Specialized plants make six additional goods, among them batteries, electronics, furniture, vehicles, and household appliances. Six wagon categories handle different freight: ore, timber, packaged cargo, fluids, containers, and travelers. Supplying settlements with provisions and other products lets them develop from villages into towns, cities, and metropolises. As communities expand, they can accommodate denser construction, including low-, medium-, and high-rise buildings.
How Railroad Engineer plays
- 01Resource Processing
- Seven raw materials can be collected and combined into ten manufactured products, followed by six advanced goods.
- 02Cargo-Specific Cars
- Ore, log, box, tank, container, and passenger cars each handle designated resources or goods.
- 03Growing Settlements
- Food and broader goods supplies allow villages to advance through towns and cities to metropolises.
- 04High-Density Buildings
- Developed settlements can include low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise structures.
