Our take on Styx: Blades of Greed
The emphasis on stealth and route planning leaves less room for continuous combat. Vertical environments and tool-based progression also make navigation a substantial part of play rather than a brief transition between encounters.
What is Styx: Blades of Greed?
Styx: Blades of Greed follows Styx, a goblin pursuing Quartz, a dangerous resource in a world facing war between elves, humans, and orcs.
The adventure centers on stealth across three large environments: the Wall, the orc village of Turquoise Dawn, and the ruins of Akenash. Styx can craft weapons and potions, use Amber abilities such as cloning and invisibility, and wield Quartz powers including mind control and time manipulation. A glider, grapple, and climbing claws provide access to elevated locations and previously unreachable areas. Each situation can be approached in multiple ways, while Styx travels aboard a zeppelin with his crew and encounters familiar and new characters during the pursuit of Quartz.
