Steel Alcimus is a top-down helicopter shooter built around flying a combat helicopter through missions.
Objectives include rescuing a carrier, destroying buildings, transporting objects, saving hostages, and attacking targets. Allied aircraft can take part in mission completion, and weapons can be purchased from an in-game shop. The campaign follows a conflict involving the nation of Videl and the army of Sparronistan, with 35 missions. Raid mode is an endless option where points are earned by completing missions. It also permits three other helicopters—Golden Hornet, Infuscatum, and Platinum Sabulosa—which become available as campaign missions are completed. Raid mode supports an online scoreboard.
