We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- VR players who enjoy timed puzzle challenges but not untimed puzzle solving
- Score-attack fans who want repeated runs with randomized layouts rather than fixed sequences
- Players interested in pattern, symbol, and memory puzzles who prefer short tasks over long-form adventures
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-led experience with a long campaign may find the score-attack ritual structure limited.
- Players who prefer relaxed pacing may not enjoy racing the clock through puzzles.
- Players looking for a broad range of activities may find the focus on puzzle walls and a final ritual narrow.
Our take on Starcaller
Its defining structure is a timed temple-restoration run: players repair walls before nightfall, then perform a separate ritual that sends falling star fragments back into the sky for a score-attack finish.
What is Starcaller?
Starcaller is a virtual reality score-attack game built around timed puzzles and a final ritual.
Players work through 30 puzzles across 10 puzzle walls, each with 3 difficulty tiers. The puzzles are randomized, so sessions vary. Tasks include identifying celestial patterns, rotating discs to realign symbols, and memorizing musical notes. During the timed temple sequence, players restore as many walls as possible before night arrives. The session then shifts to the final ritual, where players send falling star fragments back into the sky. Once familiar with the puzzles, players can repeat the ritual to try to improve their leaderboard position. The vendor says future updates may add events, puzzles, game modes, and paid content packs.
